Hey everyone!! My name is Allyson Butler, but you can just call me Ally.
Now that we’ve met, let me tell you a little bit about m
yself! I live in Hollister, California, and before I go any farther with this conversation, I know some of you are like “Wait? She lives in a store??” Allow me to assist your blown mind. Established in 1872 and located about 30 miles from Monterey Bay in northern-ish California, Hollister is a gorgeous place. The weather rarely goes over 80 degrees in the summer (without humidity – Hallelujah!) because of that nice sea breeze, and in the winter, it never snows and usually stays in the 30-50 degree range (I’ve made you want to come visit me – haven’t I!).
You might wonder what I do all day. Well, the short answer would be school, as I’m a senior in high school. But, school actually takes up less than a quarter of my day. I am also involved in 4-H, where I lead a hiking project, help with a sewing project, and much more. Through 4-H, I also have several leadership roles, including vice president for my club and secretary of the county council. I have my own photography business, sing in choir, and play multiple instruments.
Since a young age I have enjoyed the outdoors. I love animals and everything to do with them. If I had to choose only one thing to do outside, it would be hiking. If you saw me in person, you would say “No way! There is absolutely no way that that girl is athletic.” You’re right! I’m definitely not athletic. I hate working out. But you don’t have to be an athlete to have a love for the outdoors, or to go hiking. Sure, I might not be able to hike as fast as you, but I’m okay with that (And if you’re not, you’re going to have to find a new hiking buddy!).
My blog will cover things like my favorite hiking trails around San Benito County and Outdoor Safety. Hopefully, I will be able to effectively portray my sense of humor through my writing. I hope you’ll stick around for the ride!
